On 30 September 2024, National Gas Transmission plc (NGT) submitted a request to Ofgem under Part G of Special Condition 2.3 of their Gas Transporter Licence to direct a value of zero for the Penal Rate Proportion (SOPRPt), in effect waiving the penal interest which was triggered because NGT under-recovered a certain amount of recovered revenue against their allowed revenue in regulatory year 2023-2024.
Our decision
Following an assessment of the request, the Authority has decided to direct a SOPRPt value of zero for the regulatory year 2023-2024.
