Decision to approve revision of NESO’s GB Pricing Methodology

National Energy System Operator (NESO) is required to review its Pricing Methodology (PM) every 3 years based on our previous decision to approve the Pricing Proposal, under Article 6(4) of the Clean Energy Package (CEP). Article 6(4) obliges TSOs to settle balancing energy (utilisation) on a pay-as-clear (PAC) basis for standard and specific balancing products.
NESO has reviewed the PM and concluded it is still fit for purpose whilst making some changes to keep the document relevant to the current system.
This letter sets out our decision to approve the outcome of the review by NESO and outlines the next necessary steps.
