Dynamic response products are opt-in services where National Energy System Operator (NESO) pays Balancing Service Parties to provide balancing capacity. They must act quickly to help maintain system frequency around the target value of 50Hz.
We have decided to approve NESO’s proposed amendments to the terms and conditions on electricity balancing, which was submitted to us on 25 April 2025.
NESO have proposed a series of changes to the ‘ABSVD’ section of the Service Terms, all in relation to one key proposal that will enable the application of the Applicable Balancing Services Volume Data Methodology (ABSVD) calculation to non-Balancing Mechanism Units (non-BMUs).
