Approval of the modified Access Rules for the Nemo Link interconnector pursuant to Standard Licence Condition 11A of the Electricity Interconnector Licence

On 13 October 2022, Nemo Link Limited (NLL) submitted modified Access Rules for the Nemo Link interconnector to the Authority for approval. The Access Rules set out the terms and conditions for access to, and including use of, the interconnector



We have decided to approve the modified Access Rules on the basis that the below proposed modifications to the Access Rules better achieve the relevant objectives as required under NLL’s Electricity Interconnector Licence. The relevant Direction approving the modified Access Rules can be found in Annex 1 of this letter.



The approved modifications to the Access Rules relate to:

• Compensation for curtailment
• Enabling the return of long-term transmission rights in months with planned maintenance periods
• Clarifying the treatment of allocated rights in the event of suspension of the JAO participation agreement
• Earlier opening of long-term nomination gate
• Housekeeping changes in light of the revised Harmonised Allocation Rules

The approved Access Rules will be published on NLL’s website for a period of 28 days prior to their coming into effect.
