Approval of the modified Access Rules and Charging Methodology for the North Sea Link interconnector
Our decision to approve changes to the Access Rules and Charging Methodology in line with SLC 11A and SLC 10 of the electricity interconnector licence.

On 15 May 2026, National Grid North Sea Link Limited (NGNSL) submitted modified Access Rules and Charging Methodology for the North Sea Link interconnector to the Authority for approval. The Access Rules and Charging Methodology set out the terms and conditions for access to, and including use of, the interconnector.
Outcome
We have decided to approve the modified Access Rules and Charging Methodology on the basis that the below proposed modifications to the Access Rules and Charging Methodology better achieve the relevant objectives as required under NGNSL’s Electricity Interconnector Licence.
