We are seeking views on our proposed decision on Liverpool Bay CCS Limited’s application for a Change in Scope Re-opener.

Details of outcome

We received 156 responses to our consultation from members of the public. Many responses provided views on the proposed modifications to the allowances to reflect the deprioritisation of Viridor in accordance with Department for Energy Security and Net Zero’s (DESNZ) Track-1 Expansion announcement.

We have carefully considered the feedback received and potential impacts to current and future users of the network. Based on this, we have reached our final position in regards to Liverpool Bay CCS’s Phase 2 Tranche C Change in Scope Submission as set out in this Final Determination.

Consultation description

Ofgem is seeking views on our minded to position on the proposed modifications within Liverpool Bay CCS’s Phase 2 Tranche C Change in Scope Submission, primarily regarding the costs associated with the ongoing Runcorn TCPA Application and the Licensee’s participation in the Cubico Frodsham Solar Project Development Consent Order (the ‘Cubico DCO’) examination.

This submission follows the deprioritisation of Viridor in accordance with Department for Energy Security and Net Zero’s (‘DESNZ’) Track-1 Expansion announcement:
