The purpose this letter is to consult on a proposed licence change to National Grid Electricity Transmission plc’s (National Grid) electricity transmission licence.

National Grid requested additional 2012-13 Transmission Investment Incentives funding for the Anglo Scottish Incremental project (the Anglo Scottish project) to bring forward construction works at the Hutton substation to realise efficiency savings.  On 2 April 2014, we issued a consultation on our minded to position to increase National Grid’s 2012-13 allowances by £8.4 million under the further Works mechanism. Following the close of the consultation, and after consideration of responses, we confirmed our minded to position in a decision letter published by the Authority on 18 July 2014.

To implement our decision, we propose to modify National Grid’s electricity transmission licence by inserting the additional 2012-13 allowance into Appendix 1 to Special Condition 6B (Supplementary provisions in relation to transmission asset owner incentives scheme activity in the legacy period).

Full details of this consultation, and how you can respond, are set out in the letter below. If you wish to respond to this consultation, please do so by 18th August 2014.
