Outcome of proposed changes to Grid Code, GC0173 Consistency of Technical and Compliance Requirements between GB and European Users.
Details of outcome
The Authority has decided to approve Grid Code modification GC0173. This modification improves consistency between the GB Grid Code and relevant EU Connection Codes. The decision was supported unanimously by the workgroup and the Grid Code review panel, who agreed the modification promotes efficiency and consistency across codes.

Modification proposal GC0173 was submitted by NESO on 22 May 2024.
This modification is designed to ensure alignment between the Grid Code Connection Conditions and European Connection Conditions and interactions with the Compliance Processes and European Compliance Processes, in addition to a data clarification issue in the Planning Code regarding thermal storage technologies.
