This page explains how we let energy suppliers know if we have refused or revoked approval of an energy efficiency measure under the Energy Companies Obligation (ECO1).
After a supplier notifies a measure to Ofgem we must decide whether we can attribute savings to the measure. We may decide that we can and in this case we say we have ‘approved’ the measure. We may decide that we cannot and in this case we say we have ‘refused to approve’ the measure.
Sometimes we need to revoke an earlier decision to approve a measure – and in this case we say we have ‘revoked our approval’ of the measure.
If we have decided to refuse or revoke approval to a measure, we will notify a supplier of this in writing using a decision notice. The decision notice will give the reasons for our decision and the following information:

Measure reference number
-
Measure type
-
Date of completed installation
-
Truncated postcode.
Installers and other parties in the supply chain may ask suppliers to share these notices as proof that a measure has been refused or revoked approval by Ofgem.
