In our RIIO-2 Final Determinations, we set out our decision to introduce the Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF) to find and fund ambitious, innovative projects with the potential to accelerate the transition to net zero. We published the most recent version of the SIF Governance Document in February 2023.
We are now consulting on potential changes to the default approach to the Strategic Innovation Fund for Round 2 or 3 Innovation Challenges. We are seeking input on the proposal for Projects to apply directly into the Alpha and Beta phases, and, if this provides value, whether this updated process should be introduced for SIF Round 2 or 3.
We are also consulting to gather input on what Round 3 Challenges we should set for networks and innovators to respond to.
