Outcome of decision on timings for Connection and Use of System Code, CMP474 Fixed BSUoS Price Revision Mechanism and CMP475, Amendment to the BSUoS tariff reset process.
Details of outcome
We have decided to delay our original timetable for making decisions on CMP474 and CMP475. We believe that deferring our decision will allow sufficient time to consider the wider market impacts and ensure we make a carefully balanced assessment of the Proposals that have been presented to us.
This delay should not be taken as indicating a final view on the merits of either modification. Rather, it reflects the need for the Authority to make its decisions carefully and with an accurate understanding of the circumstances to which the proposed changes would apply.
The National Energy System Operator (NESO) Code Administrator will also be communicating this update on our intended timelines with industry.
Code modification description
On 27 April 2026, Ofgem granted urgency to CMP474 and CMP475, and planned to publish decisions on those modifications by 17 July 2026. Both modifications relate to the Balancing Services Use of System (‘BSUoS’) tariff reset process within the Connection and Use of System Code (‘CUSC’). We have now received the Final Modification Reports (FMRs) for both proposals.
