Outcome of changes to Connection and Use of System Code CMP448.
Details of outcome
Following analysis of the proposal and a minded-to consultation, we have decided to approve Original Proposal CMP448, which introduces a project commitment fee for the projects in the Gate 2 connections queue.

Code modification description
CMP448 was proposed by NESO in February 2025. This code modification introduces a fee for the projects in the Gate 2 connections queue, to ensure regular assessment of project viability. The fee will be dormant until a specific activation threshold is reached. NESO and Ofgem will decide to whether activate the fee. If activated, the fee will start at £2,500 per MW of contracted capacity, it will increase by £2,500 per MW every six months until it reaches a cap of £10,000 per MW.
