The document sets out our final decision on our review of the Fuel Poor Network Extension Scheme (the “Scheme”), for the RIIO-GD1 price control period.
We initiated the review of the Scheme in August 2014 to assess how well the Scheme is aligned with wider Government strategies on heating and fuel poverty and whether there were any changes we could make that would maximise the benefits it can deliver. We also took this opportunity to implement some amendments that we wanted to make to the Scheme.
Since then, we have undertaken a number of consultation exercises with stakeholders to identify what changes are required to the Scheme to deliver maximum benefit for fuel poor and vulnerable households.
Our final decision document concludes our review and explains all the changes we will make to the Scheme. All the changes to the Scheme outlined in the document will take effect from 1 April 2016.
