In November 2013 we agreed to work with the Office of Fair Trading and the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to produce an assessment of competition in the energy retail market. The assessment, which we published 27 March 2014, updates previous work we have undertaken including the Retail Market Review and the Energy Supply Probe.
Alongside the assessment, we published a consultation on our proposed decision to make a market investigation reference to the CMA. This document sets out our decision to refer the retail energy market to the CMA for investigation.
