Following the final conclusions of our Integrated Transmission Planning and Regulation (ITPR) project, our consultation on 10 April and statutory consultation on 7 July, we are now issuing our decision to make licence modifications we think are necessary to implement our decision to enhance the role of the System Operator in planning the electricity transmission network and mitigating any resulting conflicts.

We are implementing our decision by modifying the standard and special conditions of the electricity transmission licences. The amendments will put additional obligations on National Grid Electricity Transmission plc as SO. We are also making some changes to the licences of transmission owners.
