Annual Enforcement Priorities 2015-16

Reports, plans and updates

Publication date

In addition to our permanent prioritisation criteria in the Enforcement Guidelines, we have our annual enforcement priorities. These priorities help us to focus, for short periods of time, on specific problems. Picking several key themes to pursue over the coming year means we have a defined lifecycle for our focus on each priority so we can make progress in targeting particular conduct and learn from our work. The Authority has adopted the following strategic enforcement priorities for 2015-16, which give effect to the themes of the Authority’s Forward Work Programme for 2015-16  and the projects under them:

  1. Ensuring companies provide accurate information and deliver benefits to consumers on time
  2. Taking action where company behaviour is likely to stand in the way of consumer choice or trust in the market
  3. Taking action where we see evidence of serious shortcomings in a company’s culture and attitude towards compliance
