The Design Advisory Board (DAB) provides strategic advice to Ofgem on potential Target Operating Models (TOMs), developed by the ELEXON led Design Working Group (DWG), to deliver Market-wide Half-hourly Settlement. DAB members have expertise in the energy industry, energy regulation and policy (GB and international), consumer issues and innovation.
Ofgem chairs the group, which meets every 4-8 weeks, following the development of the TOM in the DWG.
The DAB is responsible for:
- Providing a strategic assessment of whether the TOM designs will help to achieve the objectives of Market-wide Half-hourly Settlement;
- Reviewing the progress of the TOMs and providing guidance on design issues raised; and
- Providing expert advice to Ofgem’s Senior Responsible Owner (SRO).
The actions of the group are underpinned by the DAB terms of reference.
