NOTICE UNDER SECTION 6A(5) OF THE ELECTRICITY ACT 1989 OF THE GRANT OF AN ELECTRICITY INTERCONNECTOR  LICENCE

Pursuant to section 6A(5) of the Electricity Act 1989 (“the Act”), the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority (“the Authority”) hereby gives notice that on 12 April 2018, an electricity interconnector licence was granted under section 6(1)e of the Act to EirGrid Interconnector Designated Activity Company (company number 473045) whose registered office is situated at The Oval, 160 Shelbourne Road, Ballsbridge Dublin, D04 FW28, Ireland, authorising it to participate in the operation of the East West Interconnector (EWIC), an electricity interconnector between Connah’s Quay 400kV substation, Wales in Great Britain and Woodland 400kV substation, Meath in Ireland.
