This is our first report on liquidity in the wholesale electricity market since new regulatory requirements to promote liquidity came into effect in March 2014. We introduced these requirements because of concerns that low liquidity was creating a barrier to effective competition.
We are now monitoring the effects of the reforms both to assess their impact and to make sure the obligated parties comply with them. This report shows the results and stakeholder feedback from the first six months of our monitoring.
