This working paper is another step towards updating the prepayment meter (PPM) level of the Smart Metering Net Cost Change (SMNCC) allowance in the default tariff cap in time for cap period seven. In this paper, we focus on setting the level of smart meter rollout in the PPM SMNCC. We consider the interaction with the new smart meter rollout framework and discuss whether it is appropriate to set the PPM SMNCC using a single rollout profile.
The working paper is the second in a series of three consultations leading up to the decision in the summer.
