The purpose of this document is to highlight the lessons learned from enforcement and compliance activity in relation to sales and marketing.

Sales and marketing is an area in which energy suppliers have historically encountered problems, to the extent that Ofgem has intervened by using its enforcement powers. Ultimately, responsibility to comply with licence conditions and other relevant requirements rests with individual energy companies.
