The report provides a summary of domestic suppliers’ performance in 2013 in relation to debt, disconnection, prepayment meters (PPMs) and services for customers in vulnerable situations.

This Social Obligations data is an important tool for Ofgem, suppliers and other stakeholders. We use it to use in our work protecting the interests of consumers, especially those in vulnerable situations, as set out in our Consumer Vulnerability Strategy. We do this by monitoring supplier practices, identifying good practice and areas for improvement, and evaluating the effectiveness of our policies.

The findings described in the report should be of interest to suppliers, the wider energy industry, consumer organisations, government, and other stakeholders concerned with consumer protection.
