The Shrinkage and Leakage Model is used by Gas Distribution Networks (GDNs) to model the levels of shrinkage and leakage from their networks. GDNs are able to propose modifications to this model under the terms of their licence. Earlier this year licensees sought such a modification to the model to reflect updated knowledge regarding the level of shrinkage from some types of gas pipe.
