Decision for eligibility of strap-on temperature sensors on the Non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive scheme

Decision

We recently consulted on the eligibility of heat meters with strap-on temperature sensors on the Non-Domestic RHI scheme.

Following the consultation, and an independent report from the National Measurement Office (NMO), we have not received evidence which satisfies us that meters with strap-on temperature sensors would meet the requirements for the Non-Domestic RHI scheme. Meters with strap-on temperature sensors will not therefore be considered eligible unless we receive evidence which demonstrates they do meet the requirements as identified in our response document. This is part of our robust accreditation and audit processes put in place to ensure we meet the scheme’s objectives and protect the public purse.

The decision has been published with an independent report from National Measurement Office and stakeholder responses to the consultation.

We would like to thank all those who responded to the consultation.
