Grid Code modification GC0050 ‘Demand Control and OC6’ seeks to modify the Grid Code to reflect the existing capabilities and requirements that the Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) have to implement Demand Control Instructions including through the use of Voltage Reduction. The final report for GC0050 was submitted by the proposer, National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) on 7 March 2014. Following discussions about the content of the report with NGET, Ofgem decided that the information provided in the report was insufficient to make a decision on the modification. Therefore, we published a letter on 3 April 2014, sending the modification back to NGET and highlighting the deficiencies that NGET should address before revising and re-submitting the final report to us.
