The electricity codes are:
- Balancing and Settlement Code
- Connection and Use of System Code
- Distribution Code
- Grid Code
- Master Registration Agreement
- System Operator – Transmission Owner Code
- Distribution Connection and Use of System Agreement
- Smart Energy Code
- Retail Energy Code (REC)
In addition to the above, certain electricity suppliers are also required to accede to the Green Deal Arrangements Agreement.
Distribution Network Operators are required to provide a Data Transfer Service (DTS) to facilitate the electronic transfer of certain industry data, eg data related to settlement, meter reads etc. More information on the DTS is available here.
Energy suppliers that supply homes or micro-businesses are required to comply with the smart meter installation code of practice (SMICoP). The SMICoP sets out rules and standards of conduct for suppliers installing smart meters. More information on SMICoP is available on the SMICOP website
