This letter sets out our decision to grant, at our own initiative, an exemption from the requirement to apply a 15 minute imbalance settlement period (ISP) in the synchronous area Great Britain (GB), in accordance with Article 53 of the Regulation (EU) 2017/2195 (the EBGL Regulation) and Article 8(4) of the Regulation (EU) 2019/943 (the Electricity Regulation). We also summarise the findings of the Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) that we completed to support this decision and outline the necessary next steps that must be taken following this decision.
