We are consulting on our minded-to position on the Early Construction Funding submission application by SP Transmission plc for the Denny Wishaw project.
Details of outcome
In January 2025 we consulted on the Early Construction Funding (ECF) submission application by SP Transmission plc (SPT) for the Denny Wishaw project and our proposed licence modification.
A 15% allowance has been approved for SPT under the Accelerated strategic transmission investment (ASTI) ECF framework to support early construction activities for the Denny Wishaw project. This includes land acquisition, enabling works, and purchasing important equipment, in line with licence provisions and ASTI principles.

Consultation description
This consultation sets out our views on our assessment of SP Transmission plc (SPT) Early Construction Funding proposed cost alongside the notice of licence modification, for delivery of the Denny Wishaw Project.
Who should respond
We would like views from people with an interest in new transmission electricity infrastructure to meet net zero targets. We particularly welcome responses from stakeholders impacted by the project, such as consumer groups and charities.
