In December 2018, we launched the Access and Forward-Looking Charges Significant Code review (Access SCR) and in May 2022 we published the final decision and direction on Access SCR. As part of our final Access SCR decision, we directed changes to be made to the connection charging arrangements so that customers pay less towards the reinforcement of the existing network that is triggered by their connection. The charging reforms are due to come into effect in April 2023, aligning with the start of the RIIO-ED2 price control. Today we are publishing our open letter consultation proposing how we manage the uncertainty relating to this decision and treatment of baseline allowances.
