Public reports and data: RO

Below you can view charts and data on the Renewables Obligation (RO) scheme. These are updated regularly and cover the following scheme information:

• the number of stations accredited by capacity and technology
• the number of ROCs issued monthly and by technology
• supplier compliance with the obligation
• amounts redistributed from the buy-out fund
• overall scheme value

Most of the data is from 2002 when the RO began, except for data on the number of Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs) issued, which is from April 2007. Data prior to this is included in ROCs issued before April 2007.

The data on the number of Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs) issued prior to Renewable Electricity Register (RER) going live on 14 May 2025 can be found in ROCs issued from April 2006 to March 2018. 

There are also a number of publicly available reports which can be accessed on the Renewable Electricity Register homepage. These can be downloaded and customised. 

Please note that the Register only holds information on ROCs issued for 7 years from the date of issue.
