In December 2016 we published the second versions of supply chain plans for the FAB Link, IFA2, Viking Link and Greenlink interconnector projects. Today we are publishing the third iteration of these plans for the four projects.

We think that these plans can help to encourage the development of a long-term sustainable supply chain for interconnectors. We intend for developers to also publish these on their relevant project websites.

In July and September 2015 we published our decisions to grant the FAB Link, IFA2, Viking Link and Greenlink interconnectors a cap and floor regime in principle, following our Initial Project Assessment of the projects. We noted that we will work with developers to provide a public supply chain plan for each project and that we will request updates to these plans every six months. Supply chain plans have been used successfully in other areas of energy infrastructure, most notably for contracts for difference (CfD) generation projects, to provide greater visibility and awareness in the supply chain.

We are keen to engage with any parties interested in the content of these reports. For further information, please get in touch with the project developers or with us at Cap.Floor@ofgem.gov.uk.
