Dear colleague,

We are holding an open event to discuss our impact assessment and minded to position in respect of CUSC Modification Proposal (‘CMP’) 213.  The event will be held from 10:30 – 13:30 on Friday 6 September at BIS Conference Centre, 1 Victoria Street London, SW1H 0ET.

CMP213 seeks to make changes to the current transmission charging methodology.  This work was initiated under Project TransmiT1 .  Under CMP213 industry developed a number of options for change to the current charging arrangements. These were submitted to us for decision in June 2013.  On 1 August 2013 we published our consultation on these options, including an impact assessment and minded to decision.

The event will summarise the information provided in our recent consultation, which closes on 26 September 2013.  A representative from National Grid Electricity Transmission plc (‘NGET’) will answer questions in respect of the modelling work carried out, which we used to inform our assessment. A representative from Redpoint Energy will also discuss its review of the updated modelling undertaken by NGET.  More importantly though, it is an opportunity for us to hear your views on our work with a view to informing the development of responses to the consultation.

This letter invites interested stakeholders to the event.  Please note that this event will not be open to the media.  We are keen to ensure that a broad range of stakeholder interests are represented.  However, practical restrictions may limit our ability to accommodate every request.  In the case that we are oversubscribed we may limit places to one per organisation.

Further information in respect of Project TransmiT and CMP213 can be found on our website.

If you are interested in attending, please email Project.TransmiT@ofgem.gov.uk by Friday, 23 August 2013.  If you have any further questions about the event please contact Donald Smith on 0141 331 6014.

Yours sincerely
