New experts appointed to panels for the Network Innovation Competitions

We are pleased to announce that we have appointed a new member each to the Expert Panels for the Gas and Electricity Network Innovation Competitions (NICs). The expert panels advise the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority on its decisions over which project(s) should be awarded funding for each annual competition. Trisha McAuley OBE has been appointed to the Gas NIC Expert Panel and Jo Armstrong has been appointed to the Electricity NIC Expert Panel.

Trisha McAuley OBE

Trisha is Director of McAuley Policy and Management Ltd, a Non-Executive director for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and is a Non-Executive board member for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency. Trisha has 20 years’ experience working within consumers affairs across various sectors and is the former Senior Director for Scotland of Consumer Futures. She was awarded an OBE in 2015 for services to consumer affairs.

Jo Armstrong

Jo is an independent economist with more than 30 years’ commercial experience. Having worked in both international structured finance and the oil and gas industry, Jo now advises regulatory bodies and provides microeconomic and public policy analysis for clients in the public, private and charitable sectors. She is an Honorary Professor of public policy at the Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow and is a Fellow at the Institute of Directors and the RSA.
