RIIO-ED1 final determinations for the slow-track electricity distribution companies

Decision

This document explains our settlements (final determinations) for the next network price control (RIIO-ED1) which will come into effect in April 2015 and run for eight years until 2023.

The settlements apply to five of the six electricity distribution companies that run Britain’s local electricity network, which transports energy into homes and businesses.

In February 2014 we finalised (‘settled’) the price control of one company early, Western Power Distribution, after we judged its business plan for the eight year period showed sufficient value for consumers. The potential for early settlement is known as ‘fast-tracking’. The remaining slow-track companies submitted revised business plans in March. We consulted on our draft determinations in July, and have considered responses when developing these final determinations.

We will publish a statutory consultation on the licence conditions to implement these final determinations in December 2014.
