Guidance Volumes 1 and 2 provide the main guidance for the Non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI):

  • Volume 1 sets out the eligibility requirements of the RHI and how applicants could become accredited or registered before the scheme closed to new applications on 31 March 2021.
  • Volume 2 includes the ongoing requirements for RHI participants, information on how periodic support payments are calculated and paid, and our compliance and enforcement powers.

Guidance Volume 2 published 26 June 2026 contains some continuous improvement updates and additional guidance. A summary of updates made in this version is published as a subsidiary document.
