Suppliers have to keep a record of their operation against certain licence conditions and to report on their performance.
They must submit quarterly returns and an annual report on their performance to Ofgem and to the Gas and Electricity Consumers Council (Consumer Focus). The reporting requirements are as follows:
- quarterly returns must be submitted to Ofgem and Consumer Focus (via Ofgem) no more than 28 days after the end of each quarter (i.e. 28 January, 28 April, 28 July, and 28 October); and
- the annual return to Ofgem and Consumer Focus (via Ofgem) must be submitted by 28 January.
Detailed information on reporting requirements is available in the guidance notes on monitoring domestic suppliers’ performance.
