The Prepayment Meter (PPM) Regulations came into effect on 1 September 2006.
The Regulations allow suppliers, with a customer’s agreement, to collect payment through a PPM for gas and electricity debt from current or previous premises and for ongoing gas usage charges.
Suppliers will be required to provide data on a six monthly and annual basis, and data will be published on an annual basis.
