Sustainable Development Reporting

Ofgem has an important secondary duty to contribute to the achievement of sustainable development. In this part of the website you can find out how we have responded to this duty through the work we do.

Our sustainable development reporting consists of:

  • SD Focus, an annual report on our contribution towards the achievement of sustainable development.
  • Regular updates on our sustainable development indicators, which show the progress of Ofgem and the energy sector towards sustainability goals.

SD Focus is structured around our five themes of sustainable development – managing the transition to a low carbon economy, eradicating fuel poverty and protecting vulnerable customers, promoting energy saving, ensuring a secure and reliable gas and electricity supply and supporting improvement in all aspects of the environment. The current SD Focus can be found below, along with our previous sustainability reports from 2006.

Our sustainable development indicators are grouped into our five themes and are updated regularly. These can be found under the link on the left-hand side of this page.

We would welcome feedback on our approach to reporting and communicating Ofgem's sustainable development work. For further information or to provide views, please contact:
