The options for small (licence exemptible) generators to trade their output are:
- To become a Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC) Party. For information on the route for becoming a signatory to the BSC and the consequent trading options see the further reading section;
- To trade through an agent in Central Volume Notification;
- To trade through a licensed supplier in Supplier Volume Allocation; or
- To split up its output into predictable and unpredictable output that can then be sold to different suppliers or consolidators.
The report "NETA - Trading Options for Licence Exemptible Generators" describes the various trading options for exemptible generators in detail, with a particular focus on consolidation.
