The key central bodies which administer the electricity market are listed below.

ELEXON

ELEXON (also referred to as BSCCo) has the principal role of providing and procuring the necessary facilities, resources and services required for the proper, effective and efficient implementation of the Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC).

National Grid Electricity Transmission Plc (NGET)

NGET owns, maintains and operates the high-voltage electricity transmission system in England and Wales, balancing supply with demand 24 hours a day. Under the obligations of its Electricity Transmission Licence, it maintains the BSC, the Connection and Use of System Code (CUSC) and Grid Code.
