To ensure that consumers remain at the heart of everything we do and improve our understanding of the things that really matter to consumers we regularly engage with both domestic and business consumers.
Ofgem's main engagement with business (industrial and commercial) consumer representatives comes through our:
- Large Users Group (LUG) covering major industrial, commercial and large public sector customers.
- Small and Medium Users Group (SMUG) covering a range of interests from micro through to medium sized businesses.
Due to different interests we meet with each group individually twice a year in order to listen to their concerns about the energy industry, share best practice and to take forward issues on their behalf. We discuss key issues impacting them and current key projects for Ofgem. These meetings provide us with a guaranteed point of contact which is useful for ensuring continued engagement with business consumers and ensuring their views and concerns are heard.
This contact is enhanced by a range of issue based meetings and one to one sessions with customer representatives such as our Winter Outlook seminar as well as attendance at a range of other business forums. Further information on these issues is available on the relevant sections of this website.
If you have a complaint or enquiry relating to your energy supply company or network operator or require information or advice on general energy issues please view this page.
