The GB Security and Quality of Supply Standards (GB SQSS) sets out coordinated criteria and methodologies that the GB Transmission Licensees use for planning and operating the GB Transmission System. This standard has been extended so that an OFTO is required to operate and maintain its offshore transmission system in accordance with the GB SQSS as required in the standard licence conditions. These changes were made by the Secretary of State at Go Active, using powers under Section 90 and 91 of the Energy Act 2004.
