Project TransmiT is Ofgem’s independent review of the charging arrangements for gas and electricity transmission networks, and the connection arrangements that DECC has explicitly left for Ofgem and the industry to resolve.
Project TransmiT will be delivered in a number of phases – the first looking to collect evidence and determine whether all or part of the transmission charging regime should be modified. It will also aim to identify what changes can be made to facilitate the timely connection of new (including low carbon) generation.
In addition to seeking views on these issues form stakeholders, Project TransmiT will also draw on the expertise of an independent advisory panel and a number of reports prepared by experienced academic commentators.
