The Uniform Network Code (UNC) sets out the common transportation arrangements that gas transporters apply in relation to their gas transmission system.
The Joint Office of Gas Transporters administers the governance of the process for modifying the UNC. Gas Transporter, shippers and designated third parties may propose modifications to the UNC. Once the UNC modification proposals have been formulated and consulted upon, Ofgem assesses the modifications against the relevant objectives. Ofgem aims to make a decision within 5 weeks of the receipt of the final modification report. This decision taken is whether to direct the proposed UNC modification to be implemented or not.
