Technical standards 


There are a number of technical codes and standards that licensees are required to have in force and/or comply with.

These include the Grid Code, System Operator Transmission Owner Code, Distribution Code, the GB Security and Quality of Supply Standard and the Distribution System planning standard. 

Under certain circumstances, the Authority may issue a direction to a licensee relieving it of its obligations to comply with a specified part of these obligations.  These directions are generally referred to as derogations.
