The Technical directorate provides network support in three ways:
- monitoring gas quality measurement, industry emergency arrangements, industry technical code changes and providing licence derogations;
- supporting other Ofgem directorates - in particular network price reviews; and
- interfaces with third parties for Ofgem including the Government’s Energy Networks Strategy Group (ENSG) and the Institute of Engineering Technology.
