The 'Industry Metering Advisory Group' (IMAG) has been established jointly by Ofgem’s Technical directorate and Elexon, the balancing and settlement code company to discuss issues relating to metering in the electricity and gas industries.
In particular an expert group has been formed to consider how the ongoing accuracy of meters and their compliance with legislation can be maintained following implementation of the European Measuring Instrument Directive into UK legislation.
A further group is considering the environmental aspects relating to metering and the application of the European Energy End Use Efficiency and Energy Services Directive.
