Mark Cox joined Ofgem in December 2003. He is responsible for the governance of the commercial and technical industry codes which underpin the gas and electricity markets and also the licensing function which is responsible for granting gas and electricity licences.
Mark's previous roles in Ofgem involved working on both gas and electricity distribution price control reviews and the development of regulatory policy for these sectors including network charging. Prior to joining Ofgem Mark spent ten years working for energy network companies National Grid and Western Power Distribution in a variety of commercial and engineering roles.
