Ian Marlee joined Ofgem in August 2008. He is responsible for overseeing the functioning of the gas and electricity markets in Great Britain, both in the short term and over the longer term. He is also responsible for leading Ofgem’s communications team.
Prior to joining Ofgem, he was Head of Regulation and Contract Services at Network Rail, leading the team with responsibility for managing the company’s approach to the regulatory, contractual and charging regime.
Earlier in his career, Ian worked as an economic consultant and as a research assistant at the London School of Economics.
