The Ofgem Graduate Development Programme provides an excellent opportunity to work in the heart of energy regulation in a highly professional and challenging environment.
You will be offered a 18 month, fixed-term appointment during which time you will have rotations in most of the major divisions: Markets, Smarter Grids and Governance, Sustainable Development and Ofgem E-Serve, and time in Europe.
Each rotation will give you the opportunity to work with a dedicated team engaged on a particular project of work. You will have the opportunity to be involved with real policy work at the highest level, working with some of the most senior people in the regulatory field.

You will also be given ample support to define and identify your individual learning needs.
You will be assigned to a line manager who will be asked to assess you throughout and at the end of each rotation, but you will also have access to a mentor at senior level throughout your 18 months. In addition, you will benefit from the support of a Graduate Co-ordinator from within the business plus a member of the HR team who will make initial contact with you prior to starting and stay in close touch throughout.
Who should apply?
We’re looking for applicants with a minimum 2:1 degree, preferably in economics, engineering, business studies, business management, business finance or other numerate or analytical subjects. However, of equal importance is a highly motivated and enthusiastic approach, and the ability to lead people and to handle change. We’re also looking for people who have the ability to analyse and use evidence, and communicate the results of that analysis in a way that meets the needs of the audience.
